Don't come with a group! They have limited seating (about 9 stools) against the wall. You might be fine coming as a couple or by yourself. We had to wait about 30 min since we had a group of 4. There is only one chef with a small kitchen and one other helper who does the serving. We wanted to try this place out because of their vegan options. We tried the classic Shio, the vegan shoyu, and the spicy mushroom tofu ramen. The noodles were cooked well but the only one that we really enjoyed was the spicy mushroom. The vegan shoyu lacked depth of flavor and we have tried other vegan ramens elsewhere. Not sure if we would come back again especially because of the limited seating unless we are near the area again. Not worth more than a 30 min wait.

ive tried coming here twice before and theres always a line outside but i finally made it in lineless at 9pm. i usually steer clear of mushrooms but one sip of the tokyo shoyu ramen broth definitely has me starting to question that. the broth is not too fatty or salty or rich - it has a complex flavor that each of the ingredients add to a uniquely in a well thought out way. next time i come back i might even be willing to wait in line to try their other ramen.

Tiny spot, so plan accordingly. My friend and I came for lunch on a Tuesday and there was about a 20 min wait. New Tokyo style shoyu ramen was incredible. The broth, the noodles, the eggs... easily top 5 ramen in NYC.

I was feeling under the weather and needed something warm. I've heard of this place on Instagram and decided to stop by. The first thing I notice is that it is a quaint place. There was a line outside but it moved pretty fast. Once inside you have to sit at a bar table. It makes you feel close to strangers. The waiters are extremely nice and tentative. I ordered their famous truffle shoyu ramen which at first I was unsure about. Nowadays people put truffle oil in everything but this right here I would die for. The broth was full of flavor and hot. I also ordered their pork buns and let's just say they are in contention for the best boo buns I've had. They had a crispy bark on it which added a layer of smoky and caramelized flavor to a fatty piece of meat. I would recommend this gem! Also they have a lot of vegetarian options!

I really liked this place, a lot more than I expected! When I arrived at around 6PM on a Saturday, there was around a 15 minute wait for 2. The restaurant is pretty small and only has a few seats, so you should expect to wait a bit. I got the New Tokyo ramen, and it was delicious. The broth was light but super flavorful. And it came with both a pork and chicken topping which I enjoyed the variety of. I would definitely come back, but I'm not sure I'd wait in a long line to have it again.

Food: 5/5 | Service: 4.5/5 | Experience: 3.5/5 My group of 3 went on a Saturday evening, and we had to wait for around 45 minutes. They don't take reservations, and you essentially need to wait around in front for however long, and there is also no bathroom (docked through experience as that was not my expectation). There are 8-ish seats inside hence the really long wait. We ordered the potato salad and chashu rice as appetizers, which were good. I got the New Tokyo Style Shōyu Ramen, which had a beautiful presentation and came with toppings that's many times extra at other places (egg, bamboo). The broth was light yet very savory, and the noodles were springy. The meat itself was so tender. I would come back again to only get the ramen and at a time that's not prime dinnertime.

I got the New York style shoyu ramen with half the noodles and the spicy paste on the side. It was freaking delicious. If it had come standard with more/a variety toppings, it would be my favorite ramen in the city. As it is it comes with chasiu and chicken and half an egg, but then one piece of cilantro (literally one leaf ahaha) and like 3 wood ear mushrooms, which felt a little crazy for the price. But I sucked the broth down like it was the last Coca Cola left in the dessert; truly delicious. The staff was super friendly even though I was a bit confused on how to order lols and I was able to get a seat no problem! but the place is small so I did see a few people get turned away or quoted long wait times. Will be back because the broth is addictive but I might sneak some bean sprouts or scallions in in my handbag

Solid ramen, the tokyo shoyu is very clean, lots of flavor/aroma of truffle/mushroom, the pork chashu I preferred over the chicken, other toppings were good (menma ok). Solid ramen but not my preferred broth style Karaage was ok, the fry was light, but would've liked some citrus either on the chicken or in the sauce (kewpie and togarashi).
